MUMBAI: The Indian rupee fell by 40 paise to 46.74/75 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday due to capital outflow by foreign funds following a plunge in the Asian bourses.

Forex Rates

At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (forex) market, the Indian currency yesterday appreciated by 55 paise to 46.34 against the US dollar following RBI's move to hike the maximum interest on NRI deposits by 50 basis points for dollar and rupee to pave the w ay for increased inflow of greenback.

Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex lost over 700 points in early trade today owing to massive selling by funds in line with deepening global financial crisis.

Yesterday, Commerce Minister Mr Kamal Nath had said that the government is not interfering with the rupee movement but will have to “step in” if it finds “artificial” volatility in the exchange rate.

Last week The Sun reported that the original four members of the gloomy, 1980's band were close to signing a deal that would see them performing at the Coachella festival in California next year - their first performance together in over 20 years. "It has looked impossible in the past, but suddenly it all looks like it could happen. The buzz around the people who used to work for the band is they could play Coachella for a ludicrous amount of money", was the actual quote attributed to a source apparently close to the band.

A week later those stories are looking like a cheap publicity stunt to help promote a new double-CD compilation spanning the band's career, The Sound Of The Smiths. Johnny Marr, the group's guitarist, has dismissed the idea as "rubbish" and the people at Coachella have also flatly denied it. The fact that Morrissey has previously stated he turned down $40 million for a reformation tour should also give you some idea of just how much the respective members like each other.

Maybe in another five years we'll have a different story. Oh, and in the meantime, Johnny Marr has started working as a music lecturer in the UK.

"This is my voice, my weapon of choice," announces Grace Jones in the opening seconds of this, her first album since 1989's overproduced Bulletproof Heart. It needs to be said - in the 20 years since that last record, Jones's voice and musical legacy have been increasingly ignored in favour of her incredible image and overall 'fierceness'. Same as how kids now wear Ramones T-shirts without knowing such a band ever actually existed, there seems to be a growing legion of artists who cite Grace as an influence despite only a cursory knowledge of her music.

Hurricane should change all that: it's one of the strongest, most vital records of Jones's career, and could slot quite easily into her early-1980's halcyon period, between the icy funk of Nightclubbing and the reggae-tinged Living My Life. Collaborators include Tricky, Brian Eno and Sly amd Robbie, but, as ever, Grace is the star of the show.

The first most of us heard from Hurricane was Corporate Cannibal, when its ultra-creepy accompanying video hit youtube. It's the sort of song only Grace Jones could get away with: "Pleased to meet you/pleased to have you on my plate," she purrs menacingly as Massive Attack-style drums crash ominously in the background. In anyone else's hands, it'd be too camp. Here, it works perfectly.

Elsewhere, William's Blood is one of the strongest (and most autobiographical) songs of her career, with an uplifting gospel chorus that ends up segueing into Amazing Grace. That there are only nine tracks here may disappoint some fans (brevity has always been her strong point), but from the dubstep of Well Well Well to the tender ballad I'm Crying (Mother's Tears), 60-year-old Jones sounds as alive and ahead of the pack as she did in 1981. An outstanding comeback.

The Cure are back. 28 years after they first formed, the band are set to release their 12th studio album - 4:13 Dream. It's due on store shelves in October and is preceded by an EP of older tracks remixed by 'contemporary' artists. We should probably mention that 'The Cure' is actually just Robert Smith these days. He's the one who does all the songwriting and management. Subsequently, he does all the hiring and firing. Too many band members have experienced the wrath of Smith over the years to list here.Interestingly, iTunes got to experience the Smith treatment earlier this week. A mix-up at the online store saw the new promo EP, Hypnagogic States, (the one with the remixes) incorrectly priced as a full length album. This led to an expletive filled email from the singer/songwriter: "This is absurd", Smith wrote. "TMU [The Men Upstairs] have managed to f* this up to another level."

The issue was later resolved and the EP is now back online at a normal price. If you fancy hearing tracks from The Cure re-worked by the My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy, then you know where to go. We're holding out for the new album. The Cure's Robert Smith has been named the 2009 Godlike Genius by NME. The award is handed out every year by the UK magazine and, as the name suggests, goes to people or groups they feel are particularly awesome. While Smith won't get a chance to pick up the actual award until the official ceremony in February next year, he spoke about the accolade in an interview with the magazine. Not exactly known for throwing his hands in the air and waving them like he just don't care, he offered the following thoughts:

"I've probably gone through a curve where at one point I would have given a much more po-faced answer about the nature of genius, it's discovering something that no one has ever discovered before and having the mental capacity to see things in an entirely different light. I still deep down believe that, but I think in music, if you can create something that's very simple, that sticks with someone else and it emotionally moves them, it's genius in its own way. Few people manage to do it. Lots and lots and lots of people try, but very few people manage to do it."

Meanwhile, Cure fans will be pleased to know that the group's latest album, 4:13 Dream is now on store shelves and satisfying critics and fans the world over.

For John Course, mixing the Ministry Of Sound Annual has become something of a yearly tradition - this is the fifth year in a row the Melbourne DJ has put together one disc of the collection. Course's mix is as reliably on-the-pulse as ever - Zoe Badwi's recent ARIA Club chart number one, Release Me, shows up briefly, and the Tom Neville remix of The Ting Tings's That's Not My Name breathes new life into a hit that (whisper it) gets old very quickly. Surprisingly, considering Course's reputation as a DJ at the commercial, poppy end of the spectrum, it's Goodwill who provides the real pop hits here, opening disc two with the track of the year - Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris's Dance Wiv Me - in the form of a hyperactive remix by Aston Shuffle. Local heroes PNAU, Sneaky Sound System and Lovers Electric all make appearances, reminding listeners that it's been a bumper year for cool Aussie pop. Eric Prydz's instrumental Pjanoo, already a huge hit in the UK, succeeds through sheer repetition, pummelling the listener into submission with its insistent keyboard riff. The Shapeshifters Lola's Theme (2008 Re-edit) probably didn't deserve a spot here, seeing as it's not as good as the 2004 original. Still, four years on, that unmistakable horn riff would make even the most curmudgeonly of listeners want to drop everything and have a Big Gay Dance Party. After all that excitement, the set finishes with the pop perfection that is Ladyhawke's Paris Is Burning, in blissfully un-remixed form. Expect to hear this all summer.

Quite why Razorlight are so mercilessly ridiculed by all and sundry is a bit of a mystery. Sure, they've made some big-headed statements and seemed too big for their two-album-old boots, but have they sinned any more than a myriad of other artists, acts who, in fairness to Johnny and the lads, haven't had anywhere near as much success?

As every band knows, the best way to answer your critics is not by giving them a slap outside a nightclub, tempting as it might be, but by making sure the next album is a fantastic, inventive and untouchable slice of brilliance.

If any band thinks they're capable of such a thing, it's Razorlight. Slipway Fires, though, isn't so much an answer to the critics as a statement of intent. And that intention? Quite simply, it's to become the new Queen.

The album is stadium pomp from start to finish, all of it staggering and not for the right reasons.
Take Tabloid Lover, a song so awful and clichéd in its lyrics (Tabloid lover / box to box runner / tabloid lover / page three stunna!) and so generically simple in its rock melody, even The Darkness would have shied away from it.

It’s not alone in its head-shaking poorness. Both North London Trash and Burberry Blue Eyes (yes, seriously, that is the title) are awful MOR nonsense, the latter containing one of the worst slow-down fade-outs you'll hear in a long time, while the slow shuffle of 60 Thompson and the false emotion of Stinger are lighter-in-the-air shockers so lumpen, you wonder how they ever managed to crawl out of the studio.

Where the band who tore up the place with Stumble And Fall and Vice and proved their big-time potential with America and In The Morning have gone is utterly unfathomable. It's as if it was all a brilliant dream and we’ve woken up to the worst hangover ever.

Still, it's good to know that it's not just Brian May and Roger Taylor who are happy to unzip and release on Freddie Mercury’s legacy – now even the wannabes are doing it. Slipway Fires might just be the most hilarious album you'll hear all year.

Girls Aloud are a British girl group created by TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. isney's song-and-dance robots make the transition from small to big screen in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, just as chaste and sexless—save for strutting, shimmying Paris Hilton-esque celebutante Sharpay (rhinoplastied Ashley Tisdale)—as they were in the previous two installments. Once again directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega, this latest chapter in the Albuquerque East High saga retains the bright, bubbly, trifling qualities of its predecessors. But despite a bigger budget that allows for more elaborate and distinctly stage-y musical numbers, there's nonetheless something mildly regressive about the Mouse House's latest tweener-targeted cash cow. The syrupy series has always been predicated on notions of tolerance, togetherness, and following one's own heart and dreams. Yet whereas the first HSM fixated on cliques and the second expanded its purview to class tensions, the final part of this trilogy (unless, God forbid, the introduction of new, younger student characters presages a forthcoming High School Musical: The New Class) merely falls back on the original's straightforward "be yourself" plotline, centering on the efforts of basketball star-turned-theater sensation Troy (bland heartthrob Zac Efron) to determine his own future—college athletics or Julliard theater?—while also holding on to Stanford-bound pixie love Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens).

Ortega adheres to formula like a shipwrecked man clings to a shard of driftwood, metronomically interspersing passable bouncy bubblegum pop and cheery dance routines throughout his insubstantial tale, which addresses the mixed feelings wrought by graduation with a simplistic sitcom-ish faux poignancy clearly aimed at those not yet in high school. I know, I know: Story is secondary to songs in High School Musical. Analyzed through that perspective, the film is a well-oiled machine, hitting its notes with such sharp, mechanical precision that it's nigh impossible to imagine any fans feeling even the slightest disappointment, an opinion confirmed by the numerous pint-sized girls who, during a recent press screening, couldn't restrain themselves from jumping out of seats to boogie about in the theater aisles. Wholesomely conservative, it functions as an engaging (if fluffy, unadventurous) distillation of narrative and musical conventions, as well as a sincere, festive celebration of multicultural open-mindedness and belief in one's self, and its charitable heart is close enough to the right place that pangs of guilt (however minor and fleeting) accompany my instinctive, cynical impulse to altogether tear it down.

Still, it's hard not to see the rabidly popular series's deliberate insubstantiality, its desire to address teendom in juvenile ways, as a depressing commentary on the dwindling standards of young entertainment consumers. This longing for immaturity is even built into the film itself, with Troy and Gabriella's romantic wistfulness for kindergarten, as well as a number called "The Boys Are Back" in which Troy and best friend Chad's (Corbin Bleu) yearning for childhood actually transforms them into little kids, doing less to tackle natural fears of (and responses to) dawning adult responsibility than to legitimize nostalgia for viewers barely finished playing with Barbie and Dora the Explorer. When the cast sings during the finale that they'll "step into the future, but hold onto High School Musical," though, it's less a thematic point about maturing than an unsubtle corporate plea aimed at fans about to outgrow the franchise. Which, of course, just highlights the fact that Senior Year is, fundamentally and above all else, a shrewd prepackaged commodity that, along with Miley Cyrus's Hannah Montana, epitomizes the new Disney world order, in which scripted shows and movies are—like Hasbro's '80s cartoons for Transformers and G.I. Joe—designed first and foremost as thinly veiled commercials for an avalanche of tie-in products.

While Keith's behavior outed him as a bully and misogynist and was generally indefensible, and while he's been all too willing to perpetuate the image that his sudden infamy brought him, there's still something unfortunate about the whole unpleasant affair. Lost in conversations about his callow patriot act have been the facts that Keith knows how to structure a hook better than most other contemporary songwriters in Nashville and that he's actually one of the finest male vocalists of his generation. His latest album, That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy, like his other four albums since 2003, offers occasional glimpses of the undeniable talent that deservedly made him a star despite its problematic posturing and overproduction.

Sharing co-writing credits with Bobby Pinson on the majority of the album's songs, Keith showcases little of the genuine wit that characterized the best material from the first half of his career. Instead, he relies on swinging-dick machismo on the rote title track, "Time That It Would Take" and "You Already Love Me." While the content of these songs is either lacking or troubling, Keith's production makes each of these uptempo, guitar-driven numbers sound like a ready-made radio anthem: "Time," in particular, is as catchy as anything he's ever released. The album's ballads don't fare quite as well: Because of his image, Keith's attempts at traditional country love songs often come across as insincere. Still, even when they strain credulity, cuts like "Lost You Anyway" are simply better constructed than recent hit singles by Keith Anderson and Jason Aldean.

While most of the songs are well written and Keith attacks each vocal performance with his immediately recognizable command and swagger, not all of his production choices work. "Cabo San Lucas" is a desperate-sounding knockoff of Kenny Chesney's already banal beach-bumpkin shtick, and second single "God Love Her" borrows its sound and chord progression nearly verbatim from Keith's own "Whiskey Girl." The bombastic horn section and gospel choir on "Missing Me Some You" recall the more diverse style of his White Trash with Money album, but Keith lacks the relative restraint that co-producer Lari White brought to that record, and the '80s-era Chicago production completely overwhelms a clever song and strong performance. Keith is hardly known for subtlety, but too much of the album hits like a sledgehammer.

Loud, outsized and abrasive as it often is, what That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy confirms is that, though his persona can most diplomatically be called "divisive," Keith has a clear grasp of how to use his material to build his image as an artist. While that makes him worthy of far more respect than many would like to admit, the album also proves that his instincts as a producer aren't as sharp as they could be and that he too often places image over substance in his songwriting. Keith may be the only artist with a five-star rating in Stephen Colbert's iTunes library, but That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy warrants a less ringing endorsement.

Quantum of Solace (2008) is the 22nd James Bond film by EON Productions, released in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2008 and due in North America on 14 November. The sequel to the 2006 film Casino Royale, it is directed by Marc Forster, and features Daniel Craig's second performance as James Bond. In the film, Bond battles Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmentalist, who intends to stage a coup d'état in Bolivia to take control of its water supply. Bond seeks revenge for the death of Vesper Lynd, and is assisted by Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko).

Producer Michael G. Wilson created the film's plot while Casino Royale was shooting. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Paul Haggis and Joshua Zetumer contributed to the script. The title was chosen from a 1960 short story in Ian Fleming's For Your Eyes Only, though the film does not contain any elements of the original story. Location filming took place in Panama, Chile, Italy and Austria, while interior sets were built and filmed at Pinewood Studios. Forster aimed to make a modern film that also featured classic cinema motifs: an antique aeroplane was used for a dogfight sequence, and Dennis Gassner's set designs are reminiscent of Ken Adam's work on several early Bond films. Taking a course away from the usual Bond villains, Forster rejected any grotesque appearance for the character Dominic Greene to emphasize the hidden and secret nature of the film's (and society's) modern day corporate villains.

The album was recorded in Hansa Studio in Berlin and Grouse Lodge Studio in Co. Westmeath, Ireland through Summer 2008, with producer Garret "Jacknife" Lee. The album is a considerable departure from Snow Patrol's earlier productions. Frontman Gary Lightbody said he wanted to make a record cheerful as compared their previous albums. Instead of describing a relationship's end, the record was written in perspective of a relationship that is working. The first single from the album was 'Take Back The City' which was released in Europe October 10/14th 2008 and peaked at No.6 in the UK Singles chart. Filming for the video took place on the week of August 11th 2008 in Central London. It involves a camera using stop motion features travelling through a city and showing different aspects of city life. Performance scenes are then shown of the band performing in a smoke surrounded area. The music video was directed by Alex Courtes.

Leon Jackson, the 2007 winner of The X Factor, appeared on GMTV’s LK Today this morning. Lorraine Kelly talked to Leon about his win last Saturday night December 15th, his nerves throughout the show and the fact that he had just started singing publicly in January of this year. Karaoke was his schtick before his appearance on the show, and after being crowned the winner, Leon is now a part of X Factor history. Leon’s new single, a cover of the Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey hit song “When You Believe”, is now available for download and will be in stores December 19th, 2007 on Sony BMG. We’ll have to wait and see if it will make UK Christmas #1. He sang “When You Believe” on LK Today along with a choir, and after performing on The X Factor Saturday night and probably getting little sleep, he sounded pretty good for a Monday morning. I like the tone of his voice, and at times it reminds me a bit of Jamie Cullum. Even though Leon, who hails from Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland, is only 18 years old and hasn’t had much experience performing in public, he seems a natural on stage. With Dannii Minogue as his mentor during The X Factor (UK series 4), it seemed apropos that he would sing a duet with her sister Kylie on the night of his win. They sang her hit, “Better The Devil You Know”. I wonder if that will ever be released as a single?

Off with Their Heads is the third album by English rock band Kaiser Chiefs, and was released on 20 October 2008. The first single from the album was "Never Miss a Beat", released two weeks before the album.The album was originally scheduled for release on October 13, but was put back a week due to "packaging production delays".

The album features guest appearances from several people: Lily Allen contributes backing vocals on "Always Happens Like That" and "Never Miss a Beat" (she previously covered "Oh My God" on her first mixtape and later with Mark Ronson on his album Version), three members of the English indie band New Young Pony Club also feature on backing vocals on "Never Miss a Beat", Sway DaSafo raps one verse of "Half The Truth", and James Bond composer David Arnold (who performed with the band at 2007's BBC Electric Proms) also appears on the album."Never Miss a Beat" and "You Want History" premiered on the band's UK Arena Tour in the winter of 2007.

The lyric "Off with Their Heads" appears in the first verse of "Like It Too Much". The album was uploaded with 30 second previews of each song, apart from "Never Miss a Beat" which included a full recording, on the music social networking site Last.fm on 9 October 2008.The album charted at number two on the UK Albums Chart during the week of 26 October 2008 and at number 16 in the Irish Albums Chart of the the week of the 24 October.[3

For longtime Rilo Kiley fans, 2007’s Under The Blacklight was disappointing. The album’s exacting production and glossy pop songs muted everything the band’s fans love about Rilo Kiley’s work: the intimacy, the sloppiness, and the general, authentic indie aesthetic. So Rilo Kiley front-woman Jenny Lewis’s latest solo work, Acid Tongue, comes as a welcome surprise. On her second solo LP, she seems to reject everything that made Under The BlacklightElvis Costello, Jonathan Rice, M. Ward, Zooey Deschanel, and Chris Robinson. More importantly, the songs on Acid Tongue are occasionally natural, relaxed, and unafraid to descend into the dangerous territory of human emotion. fail. The album benefits from collaboration with musicians that include “Black Sand” is a clean, simple pop song. Built on measured piano chords and Lewis’s soaring, crystal-clear vocals, “Black Sand” is an understated introduction to Lewis’s beautiful but dark songwriting. “Next Messiah” is Acid Tongue’s strongest offering. With help from Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, Zooey Deschanel (of She & Him), and Jonathan Rice, Lewis manages to depart entirely from the world of L.A. scenesters and delves deep into backwoods blues. “Bad Man’s World” is like an indie-rock version of James Brown’s “This Is A Man’s World.” With the same basic melody and similar lyrics, but with a sultry female singing lead, the song updates Brown’s tune and transforms it from funk to folk. “Acid Tongue” opens with the line, “I went to a cobbler to fix a hole in my shoe / He took one look at my face and said ‘I can fix that hole in you.’” The drama of the lyrics doesn’t even begin to compare with the drama of the chorus of voices, which is both captivating and a little grating. “See Fernando” is reminiscent of the songs on Cassadaga, the latest Bright Eyes album. The song features an energetic country beat and heavy distortion, and would make a great drinking song. On “Carpetbaggers,” Elvis Costello returns the favor Lewis paid him on his latest album, Momofuku. Lewis and Costello’s voices, both distinctly rooted in rock but hinting at country, provide a wonderful center for the song. The vocal harmonies on “Trying My Best To Love You” are remarkable, and show Lewis’s flair for the melodically dramatic. “Jack Killed Mom” has Lewis doing Loretta Lynn, with great success. And with the final track, “Sing A Song For Them,” Lewis comes full circle back to the quiet piano pop of “Black Sand.” The melody is Paul Simon but the execution is all Rilo Kiley, and it’s a nice way to end an album marked by so much drama. Acid Tongue is a return to form for Lewis, whose solo works seem to establish her role as the core of Rilo Kiley. If we can’t have the Rilo Kiley album we all long for, Acid Tongue is the next best thing. - JULENE PAUL

The two certainly don’t live like nobility. Their bohemian Venice Beach loft is crammed with oversize abstract art, ethnic furniture, and cookbooks scarred with food stains. “I used to play hooky from school so I could watch cooking shows,” says Wilde, who loves to throw impromptu dinner parties. She tries to be relaxed about her eating, but she avoids bread and pasta as much as possible–not always easy when you’re married to an Italian. Cheese and good wine, however, are daily staples. “I don’t own a scale, and Tao banned the word fat from our house,” she says. “If we eat too much, we say, ‘I feel clogged up.’”

Wilde–who actually has won a few eating contests in her day–knows that feeling well. “Once, in Australia, I ate 33 pancakes in 20 minutes, and I only did it because they said a girl could never enter the competition,” she says proudly. “I won against these giant men, and they were convinced I was cheating. Guys have some sort of sick fascination with girls who can eat.” Conversely, Wilde says, women seem to get off on women who don’t eat. A year ago, during a visit to Thailand with her husband, she caught a nasty case of Dengue fever and lost about 15 pounds. “I looked really thin, and all the men in my life were worried about me,” she says. “But all the women in my life were proud of me. They started calling it ‘the Dengue diet.’

”To work off the occasional pound or three of pancakes, Wilde exercises daily. She spins at a local studio (a fact she’s embarrassed to admit, since she’s just blocks from the beach). “I make fun of it, but it’s amazing, because you have to push yourself through this resistance, which is so therapeutic,” she says. “And they say you can burn nearly 800 calories in, like, 45 minutes if you push it to the highest level.” She also does yoga, dabbles in karate, and hikes regularly with her dogs: a bulldog named Lola that she lovingly refers to as “a side of ham” and a fluffy mutt that goes by Paco. In 2006 Paco won a contest to be the “spokesdog” for Old Navy. He traveled, sat for photo shoots, and got paid (his salary went to a canine charity). “He still acts like a doggie model sometimes. If I put a T-shirt on him, he won’t move. He thinks he’s back at the job; he’ll strike a pose and just sit there.”

As for herself, she’ll pass on posing for hours on end. “It would be so depressing to be a model and not get to say a word,” she says. “There’s no personality involved.” Even perfecting a paparazzi-worthy smile for the red carpet has been a challenge. “I got a tip, which sounds ridiculous but actually works,” she says. She suddenly flinches, like she’s in extreme pain, and says “Ouf!” Is it appendicitis, doc? Another bout of Dengue fever? Nope. “You have to smile like someone just punched you in the stomach. Bam! Smile! Bam! Smile!”

in the second season of The O.C. launched this Washington, DC, native into the role of male fantasy fodder. (The steamy kisses have garnered 100,000-plus YouTube hits, and she says she still gets letters from sexually confused young women who consider Wilde a role model.) “When I kiss a girl for a part, people think it’s sexy. But if two guys kiss, suddenly there’s a backlash. It’s a double standard,” she says, munching on a guacamole pesto taco. “Honestly, I think we’re all bisexual in some way.”

And who would top Wilde’s own girl-on-girl tryst list? “Angelina Jolie, hands down! Just seeing an actress who has been through it all and who doesn’t care what other people say about her–someone who has forged her own path,” she says. Wilde met her crush at last year’s Golden Globes, where Jolie was up for her role as Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart: “I was sitting at her knees and talking about my parents [well-known international journalists Leslie and Andrew Cockburn] and how dangerous being a journalist in a foreign country can be,” she says. “Later, I was like, ‘Brad who?’ I didn’t even realize he was leaning over her shoulder the whole time. Everyone around her just disappeared.”

One guy Wilde has found impossible to ignore is her husband, Tao Ruspoli. Several years ago, she was feeling a bit turned off by L.A. guys–”they spend way more time looking in the mirror than I ever do,” she says–when a friend of her parents suggested a set-up. She bristled. “He wanted to introduce me to this Italian guy who made films and lived on a school bus. I said, ‘Whoa! I don’t want to meet a dude who lives on a bus!’” Turns out the guy was an Italian prince whose family owns a palazzo in Rome and a castle in Vignanello, Italy. He’s a filmmaker and documentarian; the bus is a mobile studio for a cinema collective he founded.

Within six months, the two had eloped–on the bus, no less. (They later had a proper wedding in Virginia.) Ruspoli was 27; Wilde, just 18. “My dad did have a minor heart attack, and it was hard to imagine settling down at the time,” she recalls. “But there was this wave of romantic excitement and an overwhelming sense that we were supposed to be family. We were very open to the idea that if it didn’t work, we would let it go its course. No pressure.” (A quick glance at her ring finger reveals a chunky gold band, not the honking emerald-cut rock favored by Hollywood
royalty.) Wilde gets a kick out of people’s first reaction to her titled spouse. “Everyone expects him to pick me up in a limo or a yacht,” she says. “Then Tao rolls up in this old Thunderbird, wearing flip-flops, his hair all crazy. People are like, ‘He’s a prince?’”

They call this ‘the death corner,’ because there are so many accidents,” says Olivia Wilde, poised to cross a busy boulevard in Venice, California, on her retro-blue beach cruiser. Cars whiz by. She looks left, then right, then suddenly shouts over her shoulder: “OK! Here we go!” Great. An actress with a God complex. Then again, she does play a doctor on TV, and in a pinch, she probably could perform CPR. Or stanch a gushing head wound.

Well, maybe not. “Hmm. I don’t know if I could save you. But I am fascinated with neurology, so I know a lot about the brain,” says Wilde, better known as Thirteen, the bisexual M.D. with a terminal brain disorder on Fox’s hit series House. (”Not only am I dying, but I’m gay. Now, that’s a juicy role,” she says.) Her job leads her to self-diagnose every bump and itch she gets: “Yesterday I was dehydrated and my fingers were twitching, so I thought, ‘I have ALS and I probably have three years to live.’ I freaked out.”

Thankfully, Wilde recovered. So much so that she suggested this leisurely if slightly treacherous ride to the Santa Monica farmers’ market for an al fresco lunch. For the self-described “sort-of vegetarian who eats fish,” the lure is a raw-food stand and a chance to plop down and wiggle her toes in a patch of grass. “You’re not going to believe this, but they have bike valets there,” she says. “Only in Los Angeles, right? So crazy.”

The same could be said for Wilde’s rapid ascent from casting assistant to TV star. Since arriving here in 2002, the 24-year-old Irish-American has shape-shifted from a blonde nympho in the indie fave Alpha Dog to a sultry brunette in the slasher flick Turistas. (”Brunettes have more fun,” she says, “because people don’t know what to expect from them.”) She also just finished shooting a goofy period comedy called The Year One in Shreveport, Louisiana, alongside Jack Black, Michael Cera, and David Cross. “It was freaking cold at times, and there were a lot of unpleasant conditions,” she says, “but I was surrounded by the funniest human beings I have ever met. There was zero drama.”

Bully is a sand box set in a school environment. The player takes control of teenage rebel, Jimmy Hopkins, who from the opening cutscene is revealed to be a difficult student with a criminal background. The game concerns the events that follow Jimmy being dropped off at Bullworth Academy, a fictional New England boarding school. The player is free to explore the school campus in the beginning and later on in the game the town, or to complete the main missions. The game makes extensive use of minigames. Some are used to earn money, others to improve Jimmy's abilities or get new items.

School classes themselves are done in the form of minigames, broken into five levels of increasing difficulty. English, for example, is a word scramble minigame, and as Jimmy completes the level, he learns to apologize to bullies, deliver better taunts, apologize to prefects and finally to apologize to the police.

Jimmy Hopkins has a multitude of weapons available, although they tend to run along the lines of things a school boy might actually attain, such as a slingshot, bags of marbles, itching powder, fire crackers, stink bombs, and later in the game, a bottle rocket launcher and a potato cannon/spud cannon. He also has an assortment of vehicles to operate — mainly a skateboard, but also a scooter, a gokart(for racing), a lawn mower (for money), and bicycles.

MAX PAYNE 2 -- (2008) INCREDIBILY CHALLENGING

"Max Payne 2" has all of these elements. In fact, the game starts in the middle of the story and frequent flashbacks and dream sequences give the player insight into Max. This unpredictable style can lead to some confusion, but the overall effect makes for a very interesting game.

The cut scenes that tell the unfolding story work well and are done in a "Sin City"/graphic novel style.

The game looks great, with the environment being the star of the show. Every object looks realistic, with wet items glistening and reflecting light. But what really helps the realism is that everything moves realistically too. Kick a can and watch its lifelike tumble. Shoot a guy against a wall and watch him crumple and go limp.

"Max Payne 2" was highly rated when it came out and it stands the test of time. While not incredibly challenging, it is still fun and will probably hook anyone who likes the genre. If you're a fan of third-person shooters and you somehow missed it the first time, go get it.

"Max Payne 2" is rated mature and is available on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.

Taradise: bikini moment was a warm October

Enjoying what was a warm October afternoon in Miami, Tara Reid opted to offer up another bikini moment - taking a quick walk by the beach with a bright green bathing suit.

Followed by paparazzi, the "Taradise" starlet looked focused as she walked along, momentarily stopping for a laugh before flip-flopping along on her way.

And according to FOX Pop Tarts' Hollie McKay, Miss Reid may want to update herself of the goings on in Hollywood- apparently she thinks that the writers’ strike is still going on!

Tara told Tarts last week, “I totally plan to go back into acting once the strike stops. The economy is so bad right now that people are afraid to put money back into acting. Even the shows that seem new, they really shot six months ago. So when it’s all back up again, I will go back into it. That’s my heart.”

In the meantime, Reid has been working on her clothing line. “I have a clothing line coming out called Mantra by Tara Reid. It’s like the book ‘The Secret’ — the whole line is about colors. Red means love, blue means love, white is peace, black means protection. So when you wear these colors, you might attract love, or green, you’ll get lucky tonight. You put the energy out there, that’s what the line is all about.”

UEFA Champions League deal for PES Full With crACK

Konami has announced that its PES 2009 title will feature the UEFA Champions League following the conclusion of an exclusive 4 year licence with UEFA. The newest addition to the Pro Evolution Soccer series will be released for Playstation 3, XBOX 360 and PC-DVD in late 2008 (December), followed by a version for Wii in 2009.

The UEFA Champions League deal will allow Konami to use all elements and attributes of the competition to create an exclusive UEFA Champions League mode within the PES game. The licence confirms Konami’s commitment to extending the series’ reputation as the definitive and most realistic football series available.

“The Pro Evolution Soccer series is synonymous with football being played at the highest level, which makes it perfect for hosting the best club football competition in the world”, commented UEFA. “We are delighted that PES 2009 will feature the UEFA Champions League and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Konami.”

There are two ersions of the video, the rated version[Censored] was featured on ABC, and the Director's Cut [Uncensored]. The differences between both versions, is that the unrated shows Spears completely nude, while the rated version shows steam covering Spears' body. I have included both versions of the video, although the Uncensored version is only a web-rip and lower resolution 640x340 [definitely not full-screen quality]. The censored version is a TV rip and the resolution is 1000x444 [full-screen quality]. Both videos are edited to exclude logos. I have included ScreenShots of both videos for your perusal in the file.

'Womanizer' is a song by American pop singer Britney Spears. The song was recorded for her forthcoming sixth studio album, 'Circus' [due for release November/December 2008]. Announced as the lead single from the album, 'Womanizer' was first released to radio stations worldwide on September 26th 2008. It was released commercially in the United States on October 7th 2008 through digital distribution. It will be released as a CD single on November 1st 2008 in Australia.

The music video was filmed on September 24/25th 2008, at a Los Angeles nightclub and restaurant. It was directed by Joseph Khan, who had previously directed Spears's videos, 'Stronger' in 2000 and 'Toxic' in 2004. The video begins with Britney lying in a sauna completely nude. It then switches to a not-so-innocent looking Britney wearing a grey satin robe with a black bra peeking out, she's cooking her beau [Brandon Stoughton] breakfast. He checks his schedule, and sees he has an important business meeting. He dresses and appears in his office. He sees another Britney dressed like a secretary with short black hair and glasses. She and many of the other workers dance around him while she calls him a 'womanizer'. They go into a copy room, and he takes pictures of her on his phone and flirts with her. She sits on the copy machine and copies her buttocks showing nothing but black underwear. She rips it in half and throws his face on the copy machine. etc., etc.

Tinker Bell is a 2008 computer animated film based on the Disney Fairies franchise being produced by DisneyToon Studios. It revolves around Tinker Bell, a fairy character created by J. M. Barrie in his play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, and featured in the 1953 Disney animated film, Peter Pan and its 2002 sequel Return to Never Land. Unlike Disney's two Peter Pan films featuring the character, which were produced primarily using traditional animation, Tinker Bell is being produced using digital 3D modeling. This film will be the first time that the Disney version of Tinker Bell will speak.

Synopsis: Tinker Bell is the jealous pixie who glows brightest for Peter Pan. Her voice sings like a tinkling bell and a sprinkle of her pixie dust can make you fly. But this sprite can turn spiteful if she suspects that Peter's attentions are diverted to anyone but herself. It's bad enough that she has to compete with Never Land's other adoring females (the mermaids and Princess Tiger Lily), but now Peter's brought back this Wendy person from London. Tink would lay down her life for Peter, but he's too busy playing Wendy's hero to care. Somehow she'll find a way to settle the score, even if it takes eliminating the competition.
In Sir James M. Barrie's original play, Tinker Bell is traditionally staged as a flying point of light beamed from offstage. Animator Marc Davis' personification of her as a winged pixie with a very womanly figure was widely criticized as too sexually suggestive by Barrie purists, especially after it was rumored that she was modeled after actress Marilyn Monroe. Tink was actually modeled after Margaret Kerry, the actress who performed her live-action reference.

The popular Miss Bell went on to a second career as TV hostess for Disney's anthology series ("Disneyland®," "Walt Disney Presents," "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color," and "The Wonderful World of Disney"), and Tinker Bell still flies through the sky over Disneyland every night in the summer to herald the evening fireworks.
